What are the Different Techniques of SEO?

Black hat SEO takes you where you want to go faster. It is usually less expensive because you bring shortcuts to the top by going against published guidelines for Google webmasters. In fact, many SEO tactics for Black Hat are specifically described in the guidelines as things you should NOT do. As such, they bear the risk that your website and / or content will score lower, be banned from search results, or downgraded the next time Google updates its ranking algorithm. That is not a minor concern.
White hat SEO techniques, on the other hand, adhere to Google’s webmaster guidelines, but usually take longer and cost more to execute. White hat SEO carries much less risk and tends to deliver lasting and composite value over time. You will find the most respected SEO and content marketing companies such as Moz, Search Engine Journal, Search Engine Watch, Search Engine Land, Search Engine Roundtable, the SEM Post, Stone Temple, GSQI and Philadelphia area Seer Interactive and SEMRush all use and advise white hat SEO tools and techniques.

On-Page SEO

Pick One Keyword Per Page. You’ll generally want to start with lower-volume keywords.

Meta Descriptions. Highlight the benefit of your post or product compared to competitors who already appear in the search results. Keep meta descriptions 160 characters or less or they’ll appear truncated in search results.

Follow Best Practices for URL. Use short and sweet URLs that include your target keyword

Write Title Tags Search Engines Love. Every page of your website should have a unique title tag, preferably starting with a relevant keyword. Include modifiers like “best”, “2016” etc. to stand out and to pick up long-tail searches.

Optimize for the Google Image Search Results.

Reduce Bounce Rates. Make the topic clear by including your target keyword in the first 100 words of your article.

Include Outbound Links. At least 2 outbound links to authority sites

Add Internal links. 2-3 internal links to older articles when you publish a new one

Use Prominent Social Sharing Buttons.

Off page SEO

Link building strategy. Not all backlinks are the same. Your goal should be to gain quality links “follow us” from high ranking pages in your niche. Win these naturally by creating (and promoting) content that is worth linking.

Analyze the backlinks, rankings and traffic of your competition. This is the easiest way to start building links. Look at each of the top 10 search results for your target keyword, the view link for each page using the MOZ SEO toolbar. Focus on your “Inbound Links” from “External Only” sources to see who has been linked to them. You can also use Ahrefs, Majestic SEO and SimilarWeb to discover competitive marketing strategies that you can replicate.
Maximize links for your SEO campaigns. Find authorized links in the tools above and contact those sources to submit your latest blog or product post. Expect a 5% response rate from these cold emails. You can also search for existing unlinked content using Mention or Buzzsumo. Contact the owner or author of the piece and ask him to return the link, if possible.
Create content that generates links and social actions in autopilot
